Chesapeake Employers Insurance is pleased to introduce a new electronic payment process for medical providers with Zelis Payments. This alliance provides us with the latest in secure ePayment technology and empowers you with tools and visibility to enhance your medical payment process.
Many medical and allied health providers in Maryland already take advantage of Zelis Payments. Zelis Payments offers you fast, highly secure payments and a dedicated portal where you can check the status of your invoices, 835s and Explanations of Payment. You will also get immediate notification when a payment is credited. All remittance information is available 24/7 and can be downloaded as a PDF, CSV, or standard 835 file format.

Zelis ACH is the most efficient way to maximize payments for your practice, facility or health system by directly depositing electronic payments into your bank account. ACH payment delivery ensures compliance with ACA standards and HIPAA requirements.
Virtual card payments utilize a reloadable, virtual card that can be faxed or downloaded. With virtual card payments, you receive immediate payment for your bills.

Traditional check payments are also available.
*Note: There is a fee associated with accepting electronic payments from Zelis Payments. With electronic ACH payments, you will contract directly with Zelis Payments and agree to a percentage fee for each transaction. For the virtual card, fees are determined by your credit card company.
**You can choose to opt-out of receiving electronic payments specifically from Chesapeake Employers/IWIF and receive paper checks by contacting the Membership Department. If you are already enrolled with Zelis Payments for other payers, you will still be able to view EOPs through the provider portal.
